My very old version of Argyll V1.6.3 (2014) looks quite different and does not seem to have the /bin folder with the executables. The following section will be a more in-depth look at the overall design, build quality, and features that come equipped with the Samsung Odyssey G7. Are they compatible? I wish I had an earlier version to put my mind at ease but so far I cannot find it. 2019 the current version of Argyll (v2.2.1) is Sept. It makes me wonder: Displa圜al - last version was done in Sept. I found a separate Argyll USB driver from Version 2.1.1 but I am not sure what to do with it. The V2.2.1 Argyll indeed does not seem to have this driver. Windows is in a mode where it ignores the unsigned drivers and the Windows Defender is disabled just in case and I am the Administrator. On second attempt there is only the automatic way and it results in an error: Key does not exist: "There is no item named u'Argyll_V2.2.1_USB_driver_installer.exe' in the archive". My first attempt was manually where I pointed to the Argyll/bin where the exe files live. The Dispa圜AL at the end of the installation asks to load the ArgyllCMS software (manually or automatically). Well, I finally got my hands on a brand new Win 11 PC and very quickly ran into an installation problem. I have experienced more than one in my professional career. Yes, these takeovers can be quite brutal. Sometimes when new owners take over the existing users get thrown to the wolves. I'm pleased and a bit surprised that Calibrite continued to support an older product they didn't sell themselves. Makes the selection for me quite a bit easier:-) I recently installed the Calibrite software on my gaming/testing drive for my Xrite Colormunki Display I like it much better than the older Xrite software (but not as much as Displa圜AL on my primary desktop drive). I found this review for the Calibrite (you have probably seen it):Ĭalibrite has taken over many of the Xrite products. Looks interesting a contender to x-rite i1 series. I do remember the White LED suggestion from your earlier tutorial. Monitor is HDR or any PRO model or OLED or something with deeper blacks, theĬhoice is Calibrite ColorChecker Display Plus. If you want a new calibration device for the Dell U2713HM you can go with theĬalibrite ColorChecker Display, but your Dell will not live forever and if your next I am glad to help, try your Spyder4 as it may be ok.ĭo not forget the Dell U2713HM uses White LED. But it never hurts I guess:-) I have to read up more on this. I think the sensors in i1 are encapsulated so it may be less important. It is a good idea to store the meter in the dark and in an airtight bag with a couple of silica gel packets.įor the Spyder 4 this would have been a good idea. My dad has had an i1 Display Pro since 2012 and it has hardly changed at all. Not quite clear what the lifespan is but at least they don't use the organic filters.thanks for the tips! If you have the money a used Spectrophotometer is the best option. Look for an X-Rite i1Display, better accuracy then the Spyder's and works great with Displa圜AL. What do you consider a reasonable solution for a colorimeter these days in terms of price/performance/longevity that works well with Displa圜AL? Will have to study the available options. I may still do the first calibration with the Spyder 4 as a test of the procedure and then update the colorimeter. Thanks for the filter degradation warning - I did not pay attention to this. I am so glad that you responded, Pictus you were the one who introduced me to the dispcalGUI years ago. Your old Spyder 4 Express (2011) may not be precise now, its I have no problem with Displa圜AL and Windows 11.
